in a threat that represents the height of hypocrisy, considering what went down in the senate this week, the U.S. is cracking down on iraqi police for, of all things, not cracking down on torture. not that i don't think they should, of course, NO ONE should be torturing ANYWHERE! and guess what? the law they are considering to enforce is named for a democrat, patrick leahy, who argued passionately this week to defeat the detainee bill.
